8fundraising is published through Substack. When you subscribe or read, some of your information is processed by Substack as part of operating the platform, and some is available to us as the publication owner. Substack has its own privacy policy that governs how it processes personal data, and we encourage you to read it. This policy covers how we, as the publisher, use the information we receive.

• Your email address, and any name you provide, when you subscribe;

• Payment-related information if you take a paid subscription. We do not store your full card details; these are handled by Substack’s payment processor (Stripe);

• Any messages or information you send us directly, for example by email or in comments.

3.2 Information collected automatically

• Usage data made available to us through Substack, such as whether emails are opened or links are clicked, and general engagement statistics;

• Limited technical and approximate location information (for example, country) that the platform provides in aggregate or per-subscriber analytics.

4. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

• Deliver the Service, including sending the articles and emails you subscribed to;

• Manage your subscription and process payments and renewals;

• Understand engagement and improve our content;

• Respond to your questions and provide support;

We keep your personal information for as long as you are a subscriber and for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. If you unsubscribe and ask us to delete your data, we will do so unless we are required to keep certain records by law.
